It has been announced by Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply the activation of Article 20 of Jordanian Patent Law No. 97 and its Implementing Regulations of 2001 which stipulates to pay the substantive examination fees of patent which will be collected with a retroactive effect for all pending patent applications filed since December 9 2018 insofar the formal requirements and conditions thereof are fulfilled and completed. Accordingly, all patent applicants need to attend to the payment of the substantive examination fees of all their pending patent applications; otherwise, the Registrar will send an official request to the applicant to pay the fees for substantive examination of the patent within 60 days, and non-compliance with the same will result in abandoning the application.
