Eid al-Adha
one of the most important Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide. It is also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice” and commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God’s command 12.
The holiday is observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar. It lasts for four days and is marked by special prayers, feasting, gift-giving, and the sacrifice of an animal (usually a sheep or goat) as a symbol of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son 12.
